Jess and Cece learned the real meaning of shame on New Girl season 4, episode 18, “Walk of Shame.” Read our recap to find out what happened.

Cece and Jess get their hair blown, which gives them an extra boost of confidence. Bearclaw stops by the bar and is just as awkward as remembered, but they agree to go to his party that night.

Fast-forward to the next morning and Jess wakes up in Bearclaw’s bed. As Jess tries to escape, she runs into Cece in the hallway. They discover Jess’ car has been towed and now they must preform the walk of shame home.

May stops by the loft and tells them to stop by her performance at an art gallery. Coach is worried that Winston and Nick will embarrass him, but when Coach offers them coupons to the water park, Nick and Winston realize he doesn’t want them to go.

When Nick and Winston show up to the gallery, Coach tries to figure out what they’re up to, but ends up causing a scene and knocking over a flute player, embarrassing both himself and May.

As they patch up Coach in the bathroom, he learns he’s just as embarrassing as the others. He thinks May is just too good for him, but Nick tells him to go back to being his funny, confident self.

After trying to steal water from a kid’s birthday party, Jess admits that she didn’t actually sleep with Bearclaw. Instead they stayed up all night making up a musical. Cece didn’t have a one-night stand either, because she couldn’t stop saying Schmidt’s name.

As it turns out, Jess and Cece are actually in Paul’s yard. Poor Paul is treated to a rant from Jess about how she’s fine with how her life has turned out, only to find out that it’s not actually Paul’s house. He’s there to perform as a clown.

Inspired by Jess’ pep talk, Paul decides to quit being a clown. So Paul, Jess, and Cece continue on the walk of shame where they run into the guys. Back at the loft, Bearclaw is waiting for them. So of course Jess, Paul, and Bearclaw put on a musical.
