Nick has finally formed the perfect pub crawl, but will it be everything he expects? Find out with our recap of New Girl season 4, episode 15, “The Crawl.”
After spending the weekend at Ryan’s place, Jess is all smug. Which is exactly why the teachers at the school are getting tired of the couple, says couch. So Ryan is looking for a new job.
Nick emerges from his room after a week of sleeping and laziness, getting over Kai. Now he’s ready to celebrate the ultimate bar crawl that he’s been working on for a decade. But the rest of the roommates have plans for Valentine’s Day. However, according to Nick, the crawl is mandatory.
The plan is to hit six bars in five hours, with Winston as their designated buddy since he can’t drink. Unfortunately, Schmidt is stuck at a political event with Fawn. Jess is also plotting to ditch the bar crawl to get to their reservation at the restaurant. Cece seems to be the only other person enjoying the crawl.
While talking about the job dilemma, Ryan brings up the idea of Jess moving in with him. When Nick wants to move on to another bar, Jess jumps at the interruption.
At the second bar, Nick picks up new members for the crawl, and Coach runs into the same woman that shut him down at the first bar, Fay.
Talking with Nick about what happened with Jess, Ryan decides to drink his worries away. Schmidt finally joins them and talks to a very drunk Cece about his troubles with Fawn.
The crawl moves onto a karaoke bar where Nick and Winston sing “My Girl,” and change the words to sing about their crawl. Coach runs into Fay again and learns that they both have their license in Kansas and are Army brats.
Finally on their date, Jess and Ryan talk about what he said. Despite her earlier reservations, Jess is excited to move in with Ryan. But when they get home, Ryan gets offered the job as headmaster at his former school in England. She tells him to take it, but it’s pretty clear that tension has started to form.
Just as Cece seems about to admit that she has feelings for Schmidt, Fawn arrives and tells him she wants to date him for real. Meanwhile, Coach realizes that Fay is relationship material and tries to find her. When he does finally find her, she will only offer her email address.
The crawl makes it to the final bar, but Nick seems to have run out of gas. The gang find him and he admits that the sadness has caught up with him. As usual, the friends are able to lift Nick back up.
But Nick still can’t go into the final bar because his shoes are missing. So Winston whips out beer from his backpack and they make their own bar.
