New Girl season 3, episode 7 “Coach” just finished airing on Fox. Now you can read our recap and discuss the story line with fellow fans.

Here are the highlights from New Girl season 3, episode 7 “Coach”:

• Nick gets a text from Coach saying he wants to hang out. Winston, Jess, and Nick instantly get excited. They’re surprised when Schmidt stops in and takes more stuff from the loft. He tells them Coach invited him along as well.
• Coach tells them that he’s back in town because he broke up with his girlfriend. Jess is shocked when he doesn’t remember her despite having lived together for two weeks.
• When he wants to go to a strip club with the guys, Jess is less than enthused. Coach calls Nick whipped to which he replies that they haven’t had the boyfriend/girlfriend discussion. Nice job Nick.
• Coach is clearly a horrible influence on Nick! We’ve never seen Jess this offended before.
• To get over what Nick said, Jess goes to the bar with Cece. Cece tells Jess that if Nick wants to play games she should make him jealous. She tells her about this guy Artie who gave her his number at a coffee shop.
• Back at the strip club Nick and Schmidt admit that being at the strip club with Coach is making them anxious. They try and get Coach to head back to the loft but he just makes fun of Nick for being whipped. Schmidt is no help.
• Cece decides to take matters into her own hands and calls Artie. But Jess admits to him that she’s taken. But Cece convinces Jess that she can’t trust men because they just walk all over you. So Jess calls Artie back to the bar!
• Since Coach doesn’t seem to be slowing down, Nick and Schmidt plot to get him drunk.
• After talking, Artie suggests that Jess call Nick and talk things out. Drunk Nick makes another dumb comment. So she tells him about Artie before hanging up.
• Cece gets freaked out when Jess agrees to let Artie drive them home! We sense danger ahead.
• When Nick tells Coach how amazing Jess is, he breaks down and admits that he was the one broken up with not the other way around. He agrees they needs to head back to the loft so Nick can fight for Jess. But not before they stop to beat up his ex’s new boyfriend. Too bad he’s a cop!
• Drunk Winston, Schmidt, and Nick can’t figure out how to get out of this situation. Slap fight ensues inside the cab while Coach acts weird outside of it.
• Cece tries to talk Jess out of her revenge. She starts to complain but then ends up talking about things she likes about it, and Jess talks herself out of it.
• Drunk Winston, Schmidt, Nick, and Coach start their own weird slap fight. Until Coach’s competition comes outside. Then they run off like little school girls.
• When Jess goes to break the news to Artie, she finds him naked in her bed. Aaaaand he doesn’t seem to want to leave. When Nick comes home Cece fails to keep him distracted. Luckily, Nick believes her when she says she nothing was going to happen.
• Nick takes care of getting rid of Artie and calls Jess his girlfriend – basically making up for everything in the day.
