In last week’s episode of New Girl Schmidt vowed to end Jess and Nick’s relationship so he didn’t have to witness their happiness. In order to freak out Nick, Schmidt talks to him about how serious his relationship with Jess is getting. He successfully get’s into Nick’s head and ruins his night with Jess.
Worried that Nick is no longer attracted to her, Jess talks to Schmidt who tells her about Nick’s weird obsession with a move called “The Captain.” We have no idea what it is but apparently it’s weird enough to disturb both Nick and Jess. When Nick realizes that Jess got that bit of advice from Schmidt he flips out at first. But then it allows him to open up about his true feelings to Jess.
Winston spends the entire episode obsessing about his new cat Ferguson. After stealing the cat from his ex Daisy, Winston brings Ferguson to the vet. He learns that he needs to get his new pet fixed and gets upset. In order to make it up to Ferguson he decides to find Ferguson a lady cat friend. When he tries to pick up a kitty for Ferguson, he unintentionally picks up the cat’s owner instead! Neither Ferguson or Winston end up getting lucky.

“When Nick inherits some money from his late father, Jess is determined to put the funds to good use and secretly tackle Nick’s box of unwanted responsibilities – aka bills. Meanwhile, Schmidt tries to find meaning in life and asks for guidance from Rabbi Feiglin (guest star Jon Lovitz) in the all-new “The Box” episode of NEW GIRL airing Tuesday, Oct. 15 (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
