New Girl star Max Greenfield talks about Schmidt’s upcoming relationship that was inspired by Fifty Shades of Grey, among other things, in a new interview. Spoilers follow.

Max Greenfield talked about Schmidt and his boss, played by Carla Gugino, that will enter into a Fifty Shades of Grey-style relationship later in the season:

It’s a reverse 50 Shades of Grey. She totally hits on me in a very aggressive way and I am little on the fence about whether to pursue it or not. And [then] she presents me with a sex contract.

When asked about how much of the relationship we’d see, particularly the mechanics of the sex contract, Greenfield had this to say:

Knowing Liz, probably all clauses.

Knowing what Schmidt has done in the past, this doesn’t really surprise us.

Greenfield has done a lot of crazy things on screen, but he said there have been a few instances when he had to draw the line:

It’s very rare that this happens, but every once in a while there’s a [derogatory] joke that’s written that is in reference to another actor or famous person. I don’t like those. I don’t think that’s our show. It’s not the kind of humor I like.

Here’s the full interview from TV Line which includes Greenfield talking about his experience (and nervousness) at the Emmys and talk of the future of Schmidt and Cece’s relationship.
