New Girl fans, get ready to meet the woman who raised Schmidt into the odd man he is today. As well as a new lady friend for Coach.
Update (January 27, 2015): Fiona Gubelmann will also be guest starring on New Girl in an episode slated for March. Her character is named Val who the loftmates will meet a funeral. Coach and Val have a mutual friend that he knew from the gym.
Nora Dunn has been cast to appear on New Girl as Schmidt’s mother. Her character, Louise, is described as a controlling matriarch and the type to offer unsolicited advice. No other details are available at this time, but we do know that her episode is currently schedule to air in March.
The last time we saw any of Schmidt’s family, it was in New Girl season 2 when his cousin came to visit. Big Schmidt was played by Rob Riggle and proved to be very competitive with Schmidt.
Currently, Schmidt is working at what seems to be a dead end job because his boss doesn’t want to promote him. His love life is also less than perfect because he’s still pretty hung up on Cece. And he’s still sharing a bedroom with Nick. We wonder what Louise will have to say about that?
