After waiting throughout the first season to see if Nick and Jess would wind up in a relationship, the New Girl writers have given a bit of information on whether or not we can expect to see that down the road.

The writers have said that an answer isn’t coming anytime soon. The will they/won’t they get together question is one of the better continuing storylines of the show, and they plan to keep it that way for a little while.

Even though they won’t be getting together soon, Nick and Jess will have some moments in “Re-Launch,” the season premiere, where their chemistry is evident. We can’t wait to see this develop.

Plenty of guest stars will be joining the New Girl cast in season 2. Most recently announced was that Rob Riggle will play Schmidt’s cousin who also goes by their last name.

Raymond J. Barry will play an older version of Nick who comes to Nick with future knowledge of his life.

There will also be a younger version of Nick sometime in season 2, but the casting for that role has yet to be announced.

Parker Posey, not the previously announced Leslie Mann, will be playing a shot girl working Schmidt’s penis-cast removal party.

Anna Maria Horsford, Nelson Franklin, Josh Gad, David Walton, and Niecy Nash will all also be appearing as guest stars on season 2 of New Girl.
