Nick gets a shock when his father Walt passes away, so Jess, Schmidt, and Winston decide to go back to his hometown to attend the funeral with him. The roommates quickly realize that Nick is the one who has it the most put together out of his crazy family. They have a particularly good time of picking on Jess, especially Nick’s mom Bonnie. From the moment they meet, Bonnie is very leery of Jess. Even though she’s just trying to support Nick Bonnie thinks Jess is stepping on her toes. Despite this, Jake Johnson says that Nick and Jess really come together in this episode.
