A brand new — and super creepyGame of Thrones season 6 teaser has leaked ahead of airing.

The new teaser takes look back at the many (many) deceased characters of HBO’s epic fantasy series.

The teaser poses the faces of the loved and loathed dead as the flesh-masks that fill the House of Black and White in Braavos. (Arya Stark, as fans will recall, had a pivotal encounter with this gallery of faces in last year’s season finale.) Ned, Robb, and Catelyn Stark, and Joffery Baratheon are all echoed with some of their most fatal words — as is none other than the controversially-deceased Jon Snow.

“The Long Night is coming,” his voice calls, “And the dead come with it.”

But the Game of Thrones season 6 teaser makes us wonder just who “the dead” might really be — as Jon’s voice blends with face-masks of Tyrion, Daenerys, and other crucial survivors of the epically bloody series.

This new teaser is similar in theme to an earlier promotional video released for the upcoming season, which rehashed the tragedies of prior seasons. Between the two teasers, and hints of intriguing casting notices, we suspect that Game of Thrones season 6 might have just as much to do with the past as it does the future.

Unfortunately, both the new and old teasers for the upcoming season are scant on new footage. But at least there’s a bumper-crop of new stills from Game of Thrones season 6 to puzzle over!

Game of Thrones season 6 premieres on Sunday, April 24 at 9:00 p.m. on HBO.
