Original story (September 9): We know The Flash season 2 will pick up few months after the season 1 finale in which a wormhole opened above Central City. The newest trailer introduces some of the consequences from its existence.

“My name is Jay Garrick,” the promo begins, “and your world is in danger.”
“What other worlds are there?” Cisco asks.
“When you created the singularity above Central City,” Garrick explains, “you created a portal.” He adds that a mysterious he — Atom Smasher — has already gotten through, and more are likely to follow.
We also get a brief interaction between Lisa Snart and Cisco, some action shots, a look at a Bat Flash signal, and a single line from Atom Smasher: “Show time.”

In the DC Comics, Jay Garrick is the first man take take on the mantle of The Flash. We know in The Flash season 2, he is “going to be Barry’s mentor a little bit and help him really reach his potential” as The Flash. We got our first look at him in a promotional recreation of an iconic Flash comic book cover that you can see here.
“Jay Garrick has never been portrayed in live action. Now that we established our Flash, we thought it would be great to bring in the original Flash to create a brand new relationship with Barry,” said EP Andrew Kreisberg at Comic-Con.
The Flash season 2 premieres Tuesday, October 6 at 8:00 p.m. ET on The CW.
