The trailer has a very ominous tone, showing a plane crash, explosions, and Cybermen attacks. Even the Doctor states that he’s afraid!
EDITED: There is another version of the trailer with different scenes over at EWThe trailer shows enemies of the Doctor new and old. It’s a short glimpse into the second half of season 7, but an exciting one. What exactly will be Clara’s past that is revealed? And is the plane crash the Doctor is involved in related to a famous crash in history?
If you remember, we first met Jenna Louise-Coleman’s character in “Asylum of the Daleks.” In that episode, she was introduced as Oswin Oswald, the “Soufflé Girl.” Oswin Oswald, it turned out, was actually a Dalek, and she was destroyed when the Doctor, Amy, and Rory had to escape the Asylum where thousands of Daleks were being held.
In the Christmas special, titled “The Snowmen,” we met another version of Louise-Coleman’s character. This time, she went by the name of Clara, a young woman who lived in Victorian times, trading between her job at a pub and a job as a governess taking care of a pair of children. At the end of this episode, Clara also met her demise.
But the Doctor, not one to give up so quickly, promised to find out exactly who Clara was. It was no coincidence that he met her twice! We then find out that Clara also exists in the modern world, and this is where we will meet her again when the Doctor tracks her down to try and figure out what happened to her.
Series 7 of Doctor Who premieres on Saturday March 30.
