A substantial new trailer for Marvel’s Daredevil draws lines between Manhattan’s heroes and villains.
The trailer offers our longest look yet at the first collaboration between Marvel and Netflix. Focusing partly on Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk, the trailer is also a dark love letter to the nasty streets of Hell’s Kitchen – and to the people it cooks up.
Ending with a much-appreciated shoutout to the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe, the new Daredevil trailer draws an interesting parallel between Matt Murdock’s titular character and Fisk’s Kingpin. Both men repeat that they want to make their city a better place, and it seems like both will go to extreme lengths to accomplish that goal.

In addition, the trailer features cool glimpses of Murdock’s childhood, and how the blind boy came to be trained as a superhero. Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) is also introduced as a young woman in need of Murdock’s – and probably Daredevil’s – help. Rosario Dawson and Elden Henson are treated to a few moments of screen time as well, in their roles as Claire Temple and Foggy Nelson respectively.
Overall, it seems that moral ambiguity and the lines between good and evil will be a strong theme running through Daredevil. The series’ first trailer, released last month, made it clear that Matt Murdock is… well, he’s no angel.
The plot of the 13-episode series remains ambiguous at this point, but with Netflix and Marvel sticking firmly to their themes, it seems clear that fans should expect something rather darker than iron suits and whirling hammers.
Marvel’s Daredevil will hit Netflix on April 10.
