Excited for Cult, The CW’s freaky new supernatural drama? The Vampire Diaries fans will certainly watch for Matt Davis (Alaric), and this new promo caters to those fans!

Cult, which also stars Jessica Lucas, Robert Knepper, and Supernatural and Veronica Mars actress Alona Tal, will take the idea of meta to a whole new level – it is set up to be a show within a show (titled, you guessed it, Cult), and Davis stars as the journalist Jeff who tries to uncover the truth about a series of murders that take place on the set of the series.

In this new promo, The CW shows us just how the cult of Cult within Cult (…yes, they’re clever aren’t they?) works: by incorporating secret messages into the show, which are transmitted to millions of unsuspecting audiences. In this case, that show is The Vampire Diaries:

We have to say, this is brilliant cross-marketing. We can’t wait to see if Cult lives up to the hype – the show will premiere on Tuesday, February 19, airing at 9/8c.
