No Country for Old Men and True Grit marked two of the largest films of the Coen Brothers’ careers, and the new trailer for their Inside Llewyn Davis brings the scope back to a smaller territory.

The beautifully assembled cast signifies great things for the film, and the Coen brothers have already proven themselves to be masters of the art of telling small stories about big people, so we can expect a lot of love for Inside Llewyn Davis when it hits theaters.

Check out the trailer below, which loosely follows the life of Dave Van Ronk, a struggling folk singer from Greenwich village who would become friends with folk legends like Bob Dylan. The film takes viewers on a journey back to the 1960’s just when the folk scene was beginning to sweep across America. The Coen Brothers scripted and directed the film, with longtime partner Scott Rudin (No Country for Old Men) producing.

The Coen Brothers tackle the beatnik world of the American folk scene in Greenwich Village during the 1960s with this musical drama from StudioCanal. Oscar Isaac heads up a cast that includes Carey Mulligan, Justin Timberlake, John Goodman, and Garrett Hedlund.

Since the film doesn’t yet have a distributor, the release date for Inside Llewyn Davis is still unknown. In case you’re wondering, the song playing in the trailer is Farewell by Bob Dylan, which is very fitting.
