MTV has released a new Beautiful Creatures movie featurette from their visit to the set. The video gives some create insight into the world of the casters. Check it out below and tell us what you think!
The casters can be either light or dark which is the equivalent of good and evil. In Beautiful Creatures we see both the light and dark and just what that means. The first installment of the series focuses on Lena who is approaching her sixteenth birthday which is a time for a caster to choose which side they will be on. Lena’s family is split and both sides want her to join them.
Emmy Rossum explained the casters a little bit more, “Casters are either dark or light. Some of her family is dark, some are light. Lena is a natural, her powers are magnified. If she becomes a dark caster, she will become the most powerful dark caster in the world, and the same for the light.”
Alice Englert, who is playing Lena, discussed Lena’s birthday and why it is so important, “Lena’s 16th birthday falls on the most powerful solstice in 5,000 years, and more energy will be released than ever before and transferred to her. It’s a big deal.”
Beautiful Creatures hits theaters February 13. The last book in the series, Beautiful Redemption, hits shelves October 23. What scenes or characters are you most looking forward to seeing in the film?
