That’s a wrap on The Witcher season 2!

Netlflix’s hit fantasy series, The Witcher revealed on Friday (April 2) that it had officially wrapped production on season 2 out in the UK.

The series took to its official twitter account to share the good news with fans far and wide.

Elsewhere, Netflix also released a short video announcing that The Witcher season 2 had wrapped production. In it, showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich reveals all that it took to bring the newest season of the series to fruition.

The series, which originally started filming back in February 2020, found its production coming to a grinding halt as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. The series picked back up with filming later on in August of last year, only to pause once more due to multiple positive COVID-19 cases.

As Lauren Schmidt Hissrich explains, the cast and crew went to great lengths to ensure they could finish shooting safely once they were finally given the green light to resume again.

“We’ve shot for 158 days with at least one unit, sometimes two, sometimes three, all while decked out in face shields, face masks, and goggles and slathered in hand sanitizer,” explains Hissrich as the video offers up a slew of behind the scenes footage. “We shot in 15 locations, with 89 cast members and over 1,200 different crew members all bringing their craft to life.”

To wrap things up, the showrunner goes on to explain that everyone involved is excited for fans to find out all that’s transpired with their favorite characters since we last saw them at the end of season 1.
