Netflix’s book-to-film adaptation of Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events is opening up the search for Violet and Klaus to the public.

Netflix announced Thursday morning that auditions for the two lead roles are now underway. Anyone who meets the below casting descriptions, has acting chops, and is interested in joining what’ll be a huge new series is encouraged to apply!

Violet is described as “a young, not-too-mature 14-year-old. She is self-confident, capable and smart beyond her years. She helps her brother and sister solve problems with her skills as an inventor. She is the eldest and a natural leader of the group.” The casting agency is looking for someone between the ages of 11 and 14.

Meanwhile, Netflix is seeking a 10-13-year-old for the role of Klaus: “He is the middle child in the family. He’s very smart and is a voracious reader. He loves books. He is charming.”

The casting call site reveals that filming for A Series of Unfortunate Events will begin in March 2016 in Vancouver, Canada. Auditions must be sent in by January 15.

New title art for the series also debuted on the site today:

This is all great news. Work on the adaptation is clearly moving at a steady pace, and with filming beginning in March, it’s possible the show could premiere by early 2017 (our guess, not confirmed yet).

Violet and Klaus were played by Emily Browning and Liam Aiken in the 2004 film adaptation. Jim Carrey played Count Olaf.

Good luck to all who apply!
