We’re going back to camp! Netflix has announced that a sequel to the Wet Hot American Summer movie is now in the works and is slated to debut next year.

Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later will consist of eight 30-minute episodes penned by Wet Hot creators Michael Showalter and David Wain. One important thing to keep in mind is that this is a sequel to the movie, not last year’s TV series First Day of Camp (which was a prequel to the movie). In other words, the timeline looks like this: WHAS: First Day of Camp at Netflix > Wet Hot American Summer movie > WHAS: Ten Years Later at Netflix.

A trailer for Ten Years Later reminds you of an important scene from last year’s TV series in which the campers vow to meet again in a decade:

Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp was applauded for its ridiculous humor and all-star cast (Paul Rudd, Amy Poehler, Elizabeth Banks, and so many more). Netflix did not share any casting information today, but hopefully many of the people in the teaser trailer above will be returning for the new show. It’ll be interesting to see if all of the characters will be returning to camp, or if they’ll be gathering elsewhere… like in a city. We’re hoping it’s camp.
