European Netflix subscribers in the U.K., Germany and France have just experienced a minor price hike.

The bad news for Netflix fans continues. Following news that subscription prices are set to increase in the U.S. next month, Netflix has just upped its cost in major European territories as well, for both the Standard and Premium Streaming plans.

Via Variety, we’ve learned that the Standard plan has increased from £7.49 to £7.99 per month, while the Premium plan has gone up a whooping 10%, from £8.99 to £9.99 monthly.

The price hike comes at a curious time, considering that Disney is moving its content off the streaming platform to make its own subscription service, while in the U.S., many fan-favorite series are migrating from Netflix to Hulu.

Netflix does continue to expand its own exclusive catalogue, however, which explains why they need to bring in more $$$ (or, in this case, £££). Eventually, we can probably expect Netflix’s programming slate to resemble that of HBO, which primarily features its own content but also offers select off-network shows and movies.
