The fate of the world rest on the shoulders of Melissa McCarthy and Octavia Spencer in the first trailer for Netflix’s all new original superhero flick, Thunder Force.
Directed by Ben Falcone, Thunder Force finds Spencer and McCarthy staring as Emily and Lydia— two estranged best friends who reunite as adults in their 40s.
Now all grown up, Emily is developing a genetic platform that would allow her lab to give ordinary people super powers. But both Emily and Lydia get more than they bargained for when Lydia accidentally gets injected with the only formula in existence for super strength.
Together with Emily (who has the power of invisibility), the two besties form an unlikely superhero duo, teaming up together to fight crime in a city where supervillains are commonplace.

Others who star oppsite McCarthy and Spencer in the forthcoming action comedy include Bobby Cannavale, Pom Klementieff, Kevin Dunn, Melissa Leo, and Jason Bateman.
Behind the camera, Ben Falcone also wrote the script for the movie in addition to serving as the film’s director. Producers on the project include Falcone, Marc Platt, Adam Siegel, and McCarthy herself.
Thunder Force debuts exclusively via Netflix on April 9.
