An upcoming rom-com starring KJ Apa and Tyler Posey is heading to Netflix.

According to Deadline, Netflix has officially acquired the worldwide rights to the upcoming romantic comedy The Last Summer.

The film, which is being billed as an ensemble piece, stars a slew of today’s hottest young stars on the rise including Riverdale’s KJ Apa, Teen Wolf’s Tyler Posey, and The Fosters’ Maia Mitchell.

The movie will tell the story of a group of teenagers growing up in Chicago. The teens suddenly find their lives crossing paths and intersecting the summer before they’re set to go away to college for the first time.

The film is being directed by Bill Bindley, who is also co-writing the script alongside Scott Bindley and April Prosser.

Unfortunately, while we know a bit about what the plot of the rom-com is set to entail, we haven’t gotten too many details with regards to the roles each of the actors will be playing in the movie.

Apa, Mitchell and Posey aren’t the only young stars who have boarded the project.

In addition, the film also stars Jacob Latimor (The CHI), Halston Sage (Paper Towns), Sosie Bacon (13 Reasons Why), Gage Golightly (Red Oaks), Wolfgang Novogratz (Grown-ish), Mario Revolori (Sierra Burgess is a Loser), and Gabrielle Anwar (Burn Notice).

Shooting on The Last Summer is currently underway out in Cleveland and the project began production just last month.

While there’s no official release date set for the rom-com, it’s being reported that Netflix is looking to premiere it sometime next year in 2019.
