Netflix has just unveiled the star-studded voice cast for The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance! Find out who will be starring in the upcoming series below!

Update (June 26): Netflix has just announced that it has added some impressive names to the cast of The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. In addition to the amazing cast already announced, Netflix has announced that Lena Headey, Sigourney Weaver, Awkwafina, Benedict Wong, Hannah John-Kamen, and Dave Goelz will also be joining the cast.

Headey is set to play Maudra Fara, Weaver will play The Myth-Speaker, Awkwafina will play The Collector, Wong will voice The General, John-Kamen is voicing Naia, and Goelz will play Baffi, a Fizzgig.

This cast is an amazing one, and we can’t think of a better team to create a follow up to a film that was so important to so many of our childhoods. We’ll keep you posted as more news breaks on this exciting new chapter in The Dark Crystal universe!

Original Story (December 2018): Netflix is officially returning to the world of Jim Henson’s The Dark Crystal with The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. Based on the 1982 feature film, the upcoming series is actually a prequel of sorts as it takes place many years before the events of the movie unfold.

The new series finds the world of Thra in mortal peril as The Crystal of Truth — a source of untold power — is damaged and corrupted by the evil Skeksis, causing a sickness to spread across the land.

When three Gelfling uncover the horrific truth behind the power of the Skeksis, an adventure unfolds as the fires of rebellion are lit and an epic battle for the planet begins.

What is sure to be an epic return to the world of Jim Henson has a cast attached that’s truly worthy of the hype!

Leading the cast as the voices of the three Gelfling heroes are Taron Egerton (Rian), Anya Taylor-Joy (Brea), and Nathalie Emmanuel (Deet).

Other notable stars set to voice Gelfling characters include Caitriona Balfe (Outlander), Helena Bonham-Carter (Harry Potter), Harris Dickinson (Maleficent 2), Natalie Dormer (Game of Thrones), Eddie Izzard (Ocean’s 13), Theo James (Divergent), Toby Jones (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy), Shazad Latif (Star Trek: Discovery), Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Beauty and the Beast), Mark Strong (Kingsman), and Alicia Vikander (Tomb Raider).

Voicing the Skeksis and Mystics are Harvey Fierstein (Torch Song), Mark Hamill (Star Wars), Jason Isaacs (The OA), Ralph Ineson (Game of Thrones), Keegan Michael Key (Key and Peele), Olafur Darri Olafsson (True Detective), Simon Pegg (Mission Impossible), and Andy Samberg (Brooklyn Nine Nine).

Finally, The Happytime Murders star Donna Kimball will voice the role of Aughra.
