Shadow and Bone season 2 is officially a go over at Netflix!

Fans of Netflix’s hit adaptation of Shadow and Bone have a lot to celebrate! On Monday (June 7), Netflix kicked off the week by announcing that it has officially picked up the adaptation for a second season.

In a press release announcing the renewal, the online streaming giant revealed that over 55 million member households tuned in to watch the series adaptation of author Leigh Bardugo’s Grishaverse novels within the first 28 days of its premiere.

In a statement announcing the exciting news, showrunner Eric Heisserer said: “I’m honored and thrilled to return to the Grishaverse and continue the stories of these endearing characters, particularly Milo.”

Added Bardugo herself, who also serves as an executive producer on the project: “I’ve been writing in the Grishaverse for nearly ten years now, so I’m thrilled we get to keep this adventure going. There are so many places we’ve barely gotten to visit and I can’t wait to introduce our audience to more of the saints, soldiers, thugs, thieves, princes, and privateers who make this world so much fun to explore. It’s going to be real magic to see our brilliant, talented cast expand.”

Shadow and Bone season 2 is set to be comprised of eight all-new 1 hour episodes.

Excitingly, actors Jessie Mei Li (Alina Starkov), Archie Renaux (Malyen Oretsev), Freddy Carter (Kaz Brekker), Amita Suman (Inej), Kit Young (Jesper Fahey), Ben Barnes (General Kirigan), Danielle Galligan (Nina Zenik) and Calahan Skogman (Matthias Helvar) are all already on board to reprise their roles.
