The complete saga of The Dragon Prince is coming to Netflix.

At today’s San Diego Comic-Con at Home panel, fans of Netflix and Wonderstorm’s The Dragon Prince were treated to a very pleasant surprise. The epic animated series has been renewed for its fourth season — and then some.

Creators Justin Richmond and Aaron Ehasz revealed that Netflix has renewed The Dragon Prince for an additional four seasons, bringing the series total to seven. Ehasz and Richmond have long referred to the seven-season arc as “the complete saga,” and the arc will realize their full creative vision for the series.

Watch the reveal of The Dragon Prince season 4 (which came as news to the cast as well!) and the full panel here.

Like the first three seasons, The Dragon Prince season 4 (and 5, 6, and 7) will be comprised of 9 episodes. The ongoing story of Prince Ezran of Xadia, his half-brother Callum, the warrior elf Rayla, and dragon Prince Zym takes place against a backdrop of warring kingdoms, generational prejudice, creepy magical advisor elf-bugs, and family tension that have made The Dragon Prince one of Netflix’s most-viewed animated series.

In addition, Wonderstorm and Fandom will produce a Dragon Prince role-playing game called “Tales of Xadia,” coming next year. New details from The Art of The Dragon Prince an art book coming from Dark Horse, were also revealed. The Art of Xadia will be released on August. 18.

Finally, the cast of The Dragon Prince performed a live reading of the first section of Through the Moon, an exclusive, canon, original story set between seasons 3 and 4. The Dragon Prince: Through the Moon will be released by Scholastic on Oct. 6.
