Fuller House, Netflix’s overwhelmingly successful Full House continuation series, is getting a third season!

Great news for fans of the extended Tanner family: The gang is back together for a third run, which will premiere in 2017.

The announcement was made on Netflix’s Twitter account on December 24:

Fuller House is one of the most successful continuation series made so far, and a ratings shocker earlier this year revealed it to be one of the most viewed TV series of 2016!

Of course Netflix refuses to release its own ratings counts, but according to Symphony Advanced Media, the nostalgia-fest’s viewership numbers were on par with such monster hits as The Walking Dead and Sunday Night Football.

The series picks up the Tanner family saga 20 years after the conclusion of Full House, which ran from 1987–95.

Danny Tanner’s oldest daughter DJ now lives in the iconic San Francisco house, a widow with three children of her own. Living with her are her sister Stephanie and her best friend Kimmy, who has a teenaged daughter.

Apart from the Olsen twins, all the regulars from the original series have shown up on Fuller House, including Bob Saget as Danny Tanner, John Stamos as Uncle Jesse, Lori Loughlin as Rebecca, and Dave Coulier as Joey Gladstone.

Its initial run of episodes hit Netflix in February 2016, and season 2 followed in December of the same year.

The third season will pick up after the emotional season 2 finale, in which Stephanie had to make a confession to Jimmy, Steve wanted DJ’s help to propose to CJ, and Jesse, Danny and Joey got into a massive row.
