Netflix’s Daredevil season 2 is set to introduce a new villain, and apparently he’s really compelling.

The streaming service is reportedly close to ordering a Daredevil spinoff series focused on Jon Bernthal’s The Punisher, aka Frank Castle, who will debut in season 2 of the popular Marvel/Netflix drama, according to TV Line.

The news is interesting when you consider that viewers haven’t even had the chance to see The Punisher in action. We have to wait until Daredevil season 2 premieres all episodes on Netflix on Friday, March 18 to get a taste of the new character.

If the series order comes to fruition, this’ll be Netflix and Marvel’s sixth venture. Daredevil and Jessica Jones were the first two shows to debut, and the third following Luke Cage will premiere later this year. A series starring Iron Fist is also in development, and down the road the four heroes will team up in a Defenders mini-series.

Though Netflix doesn’t release viewership numbers, Daredevil is believed to be one of their most popular series to date. With that in mind, it’s no surprise that the website wants to build up a big collection of Marvel TV shows.

Bernthal is best known for his role as Shane on AMC’s The Walking Dead.
