Neil Patrick Harris will soon be starring opposite Nicolas Cage in Lionsgate’s meta satire, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.

The upcoming action satire, which has been in the works for a while now, will find Nicolas Cage starring as himself in a tale that finds the fictional Cage accepting a payout of $1 million to attend a super fan’s birthday party in an effort to save himself from a sizable amount of personal debt he’s acquired.

When things turn sour however, Cage will then find himself having to channel some of the most iconic movie roles of his career in order to save himself, and those he holds dear.

According to Deadline, for his part, Neil Patrick Harris is set to take on the role of Cage’s agent in the movie, but there’s no word yet on how the agent will fit into the fold of things.

Harris is far from the the only notable name set to join Cage in the forthcoming film. The Tony Award winning actor joins a cast which, aside from Cage himself, also includes Sharon Horgan, Tiffany Haddish, and Pedro Pascal.

Haddish and Horgan’s characters have not yet been revealed, but Pedro Pascal is set to take on the role of the super fan whose birthday celebration Nicolas Cage agrees to attend.

Behind the camera, director Tom Gormican is set to helm the project. He’ll be directing off of a script he co-wrote alongside Kevin Etten.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent is scheduled to be released on March 19, 2021.
