Netflix’s Series of Unfortunate Events is filming outdoors this week, revealing our first look at Neil Patrick Harris as the adaptation’s lead character, Count Olaf.
Photos depict Neil Patrick Harris putting on a grumpy face for the role of Olaf while shooting in Vancouver, Canada. He looks very similar to the book and movie versions of the character dreamed up by Lemony Snicket and Jim Carrey. Take a look:

I’m not sure what to make of Count Olaf’s appearance. They’re trying to make Neil Patrick Harris look old, but you can still see young Neil Patrick Harris under the makeup and prosthetic nose. The hair doesn’t seem to go with the rest of his wardrobe either. Perhaps he’ll look better when he’s wearing suits, and on camera with the right lighting.
Unknown actors Malina Weissman and Louis Hynes will co-star as Violet and Klaus. Netflix hasn’t set a premiere date for their Series of Unfortunate Events TV series, but it’s safe to say we’re keeping a close eye out for any new information.
