With weeks of speculation, it looks like Powerless is now officially on its deathbed.

After airing nine episodes this season, NBC has quietly pulled Powerless from the line-up with no additional episodes scheduled to air. This is unsurprising since Powerless has had a less than perfect start in ratings.

NBC has not officially announced the cancellation but we expect an announcement soon.

Powerless premiered this past February with hope for a new kind of superhero comedy that would shine on the silver screen. The show is packed full with talented actors including Vanessa Hudgens, Alan Tudyk, Danny Pudi, Christina Kirk and Ron Funches. However Powerless quickly fell off the pedestal with underdeveloped characters and storylines.

As much as we hoped Powerless would overcome its hiccups, sometimes shows are not meant to be. There is a chance, however, NBC might air the remaining episodes online. Beginning Thursday a repeat of Superstore will air in the 8:00pm time slot, while the show’s final two episodes will take the 8:30pm time slot.
