We’ve known for months that this season, 30 Rock’s seventh, was to be its last. But we haven’t known what the official air date of its series finale was…until now.

NBC has announced that the 30 Rock series finale (episodes 12 of 13 of this season) will bow on Thursday, January 31. The episode will be an hour-long two-parter and there is no known title or synopsis at this time.

30 Rock is acclaimed as a legendary comedy and we will see a truly memorable and fitting last episode,” NBC Chair Robert Greenblatt said.

Somehow being able to point to a specific date makes the end seem far more real, and shockingly fast approaching. The switch from 20-some episodes to 13 is now being felt.

NBC will use the the 30 Rock finale to introduce its modern day re-telling of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde featuring a neurosurgeon (wha…), Do No Harm, while also bumping Rock Center with Brian Williams to Friday, effectively evicting 30 Rockefeller Center from Thursday nights.

In more adorable news, however, there was a surprise cameo in last week’s episode of 30 Rock, “Mazel Tov, Dummies!” that we all may have missed. Tina Fey’s daughter, Alice Richmond, took up the mantle of the family horn-rimmed glasses to play young  Liz Lemon at a wedding. Check out the family resemblance and deft comic eye-rolling below!
