NBC’s fall line-up is full of new, exciting projects. See teaser trailers for Heroes Reborn, Neil Patrick Harris’ variety show Best Time Ever, and more!

NBC announced its fall lineup on Sunday, and eagle-eyed TV fans will be quick to notice the surprising lack of comedy for the network.

In fact, its new shows are all strictly in the drama category, except for People Are Talking and Neil Patrick Harris’ variety show Best Time Ever.

‘Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris’

Neil Patrick Harris’ variety show for NBC has been shrouded in secrecy, and only last week did we actually learn the name (which is oddly reminiscent of How I Met Your Mother, no?)

We do know that he’s taking his cues from the British variety show Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, and like its predecessor, Best Time Ever will feature comedy sketches, musical numbers, hidden camera pranks, celebrity guests and much more.

A trailer for Harris’ new variety show (first released earlier this year) humorously depicts Harris getting ready for the show, except we don’t get to see any of it!

Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris will air Tuesdays at 10/9c.

‘People Are Talking’

People Are Talking is light-hearted comedy about two couples who live next door to each other.

“As they go through life side by side, they can’t help but analyze and obsess about EVERYTHING,” the official synopsis reads.

“From topics like sex and race, to the fact that the trusted new babysitter might just be a porn star, nothing is out of bounds for this wildly outspoken foursome.”

People Are Talking will air Fridays at 8.30/7.30c.

‘Heroes Reborn’

NBC’s most high-profile new show is – worryingly? – Heroes Reborn, the miniseries set to reboot Heroes (2006-2010) for a new audience.

“The Aurora” teaser features both Heroes star Jack Coleman and new main actor Zachary Levi. It is a stunning display, and you should definitely check it out if you haven’t yet:

Heroes Reborn will air Thursdays at 8/7c.

‘The Player’

Wesley Snipes’ thriller The Player promises an exciting, hard-hitting and surprisingly hilarious thrill ride.

The trailer makes it look like a TV version of The Fast and the Furious… and we’re very okay with that:

The Player will air Thursdays at 10/9c.

‘Heartbreaker’

Heartbreaker is the token medical drama of the season, starring Melissa George as one of the only female heart surgeons in the world.

It’s a typical “woman having to prove her worth in a man’s world” story, and we’ll be curious to see how NBC handles it:

Heartbreaker will air Tuesdays at 9/8c.

‘Blindspot’

Finally, Blindspot stars Jaimie Alexander as a heavily tattooed Jane Doe who is discovered in Times Square with no memory of who she is.

It looks like a compelling character-centric mystery, and we hope it can keep up the suspense!

Blindspot will air Mondays at 10/9c.

So many new series to look forward to… although we are wary about getting too attached to these, considering network TV’s track record of cancelling shows after only a couple of episodes!
