Over a year ago (way before The Hunger Games really blew up), Glee actress Naya Rivera made it clear to her Twitter followers that she loved Suzanne Collin’s series and would be interested in playing Johanna.

In a new interview with Radar Online, Rivera reiterates those comments:

Q: Did you enjoy The Hunger Games?

I started reading the books before I even knew they were making it into a movie. I’m just a huge fan. I would love to play Johanna Mason. She’s the axe-wielding ex-tribute and former winner. She’s a grade-A badass!

With casting now underway for Catching Fire, it was a good idea for the actress to remind everyone (including producers) she really wants to take on the role.

Do you think she’d be great as Johanna? To remind you of the character, here are some details from our Hunger Games Hub:

From District 7, Johanna is a fellow tribute in the 75th Hunger Games. At first, she is not welcomed by Katniss, but eventually forms an alliance with her. She is abducted by the Capitol once the arena has fallen.
