Strap yourselves in because there is a lot to get to in this episode of Nashville.

Everybody is getting spit-shined up and ready for the fake Country Music Awards. Rayna and Luke look gorgeous and are being (fake, in my opinion) supportive until Rayna finds a prenup while looking for Luke’s notecards in case he wins. This will cause the two to basically bicker all night. Ray wouldn’t have been offended by the prenup but deep down I think she knows that something is off.

Juliette is gorgeous in black and in her pregnancy style. Unfortunately for her the TV reporter on the red carpet reminds us that she was absent from the last show because her mother had committed suicide. We see flashbacks of their sad relationship and you just know JuJu is in for a long night especially since she is meeting Avery’s parents. The mom seems really nice but the dad is obviously judging his son’s choice of profession.

Will ends up giving Layla (and himself) a pep talk about their performance later that night on the show. Layla is obviously trying too hard to not appear like the bimbo the reality show portrays her as and you just know this won’t end well. Meanwhile, is anyone else wondering how long Zooey has until she explodes with her frustration at being essentially forced to be Micah’s mother since his abandoned him with Gunnar? No? Okay then.

Scarlett, fresh off her first public performance since her breakdown, has decided to make a night of watching the awards and gets a reluctant Deacon to join her. Just in time too, because Rayna just won Single of the Year, co-written by the crooner himself. When Rayna thanks him first in her speech, Luke decides to take the gloves off. At least that is what his face looks like. Ray also wins Album of the Year, ya’ll, and she continues to thank her exes and not her current fiancé. Trouble…

Will and Layla, who honestly looks gorgeous in her pink dress, perform. These two, as obnoxious as Layla is, are really good together vocally. But who doesn’t sound good with Will. During the performance, Sadie confides in Luke that her ex text her and asked for his cut from her single. This will only reinforce his decision to push the prenup.

Teddy is back this week and making not so veiled (and really icky) remarks to his hooker friend who is there with a media guy. Also back is Jeff who takes Zooey aside to discuss her future with the record label and when Gunnar interrupts to tell her that Micah’s grandparents haven’t heard from Kylie in a month they notice that Micah is missing.

Rayna, now the winner of three awards for the night, calls Luke out on his drinking backstage and it’s getting catty.

Scarlett and Deacon riff about how Luke hasn’t won all night and then “Ball and Chain” wins song of the year. Luke takes over the whole speech and basically throws Rayna’s recent awards and success under the bus by saying he picked the song and asked her to be a part of it which boosted her career. Trouble in paradise you guys. Big time. Who else notices this development? Deacon of course!

On top of not agreeing with Avery’s lifestyle, his dad definitely doesn’t agree with Juliette and the whole baby situation. Juliette ends up hearing the end of the conversation which basically makes her sound awful and she has another flashback. They all turn around to see her and she leaves. She goes to congratulate Rayna on her now fifth award and she is just clearly begging for some attention. Rayna, pay attention to that girl! Ray leaves to go catch Sadie sing the song about her ex. Luke and Rayna exchange glances backstage and Luke ends up walking away.

Deacon and Scarlett discuss the philosophy of performing on stage and blah blah. Gunnar and Zooey get into it about Micah who is still missing. Come on girl, blow your cool already! It’s gonna be bad when you do, that’s for sure.

Meanwhile, Avery ends up finding JuJu before she is getting ready to go on stage and the real issue comes out: she is afraid of ending up like her mom. Avery ends up rubbing salt in the wound by saying if “that were true he’d be a judgmental unforgiving jackass” just like his dad. His words hit way too close to home and Juliette leaves to go present.

She presents New Artist of the Year to… Sadie Stone!!! You go girl, but poor Will. She thanks her parents and Juliette flinches. She also thanks Rayna and her relationship with Luke that she hopes to one day find. She follows him into the bathroom, where he is obviously drunk and not just on the booze. He throws Deacon in her face and then tells her that the only reason her album went gold is because that’s the day he proposed. Oh snap.

Rayna does her best to compose herself and announce Male Vocalist of the Year. Wouldn’t you know, but Luke wins! He makes a joke about how she couldn’t win that award over him and thanks her and his family. Avery ends up fighting with his dad and this time he ends up vocally supporting his decisions about the baby and Juliette. He promises Juliette they won’t be their parents and things seem to be going well for them.

Layla does not take the rewrites making her sound stupid very well and she and Will end up presenting Song of the Year to Gunnar Scott. Except Gunnar is off looking for Micah. He ends up finding him as his name is called.

Back at home, Zooey finally asks the question that’s been nagging at her and asks what if Kylie never comes back. Gunnar says it wouldn’t be the worst thing and then Zooey breaks up with him. Rough night, Gunnar. Will and Layla talk about how they don’t want to be famous like this and they end up sharing a nice moment. Teddy has a quickie with gross hooker lady and this one’s on the house! Ew.

Entertainer of the Year time is up and the winner is… Rayna James!!! Girl is six-for-six tonight with her awards. She tells Luke that what’s mine is yours and this is boring. You would think that at the height of her professional career you would hope that her life would be too but that can’t happen on a TV show. Duh.

Instead of winning the award, Juliette and Avery discover they are having a girl! He takes her back home and Juliette still has some game left in her as she asks Avery to help her with the zipper of her dress. He ends up leaving but there is tension and our girl knows it!

Zooey ends up at Deacon and Scarlett’s, devastated by the break up. Deacon looks like he is going to send Rayna a text and we cut to Ray and Luke having one of their deep discussions where they hash everything out. Both apologize and seem stronger for it when Luke leaves to go wash the whiskey smell off, Ray gets that text from Deacon. Sigh.
