Everybody made a decision last night on Nashville season 3, episode 14, “Somebody Pick Up My Pieces,” which led to new pairings. Read on below for the full recap.

With so much that went on last night we are going to go down the character line and see what happened. Let’s begin!

Rayna: Celebrating her win over Jeff, Rayna decides to give some more responsibility to Bucky by promoting him at Highway 65. Once the news of Edgehill being dismantled comes out, the two decide to go after Will and other potential artists from the label. The two have a conflicting viewpoint when it comes to who they should sign; Bucky wants the label to make money but Ray wants it to be a place where artists can be themselves regardless of profit. After Rayna meets with Layla (brought there by Jeff which we will get to later), Bucky agrees that she is good and the two make nice.

Rayna is also dealing with Sadie’s confession of her ex-husband’s lawsuit and abuse. She stands behind Sadie and they decide to settle to make it easier. She runs into Luke during one of these meetings and she genuinely wishes him well with his new label. Little does she know that Luke wants Will just as bad.

Luke: After the news that he no longer has a label, Luke meets up with Jeff. He tells Luke that the two of them should start their own label, Jeff being the business man behind it. They go through the motions for a couple days, courting talent and going after Will. After Will agrees to join Wheelin’ and Dealin’ (what a name Luke), he tells Jeff that he is no longer able to work with him.

Jeff: Jeff started the episode at Layla’s house, trying to pick up the pieces. Layla asks him what they are doing and it’s still unclear. It’s hard to hate Jeff when he’s with Layla because it appears he actually cares about her. He tells her to go to Rayna’s label after Luke makes it clear he isn’t interested. It works out well for her but at this point Jeff is defeated and fired again. Layla then asks Jeff if she wants to be her manager.

Deacon: Deke has to chose between sticking with the donor list or trying a trial program to deal with his condition. He is avoiding that and Scarlett’s pressure to research and is saved when Avery calls asking for his guitar skills. He goes to the studio and the two end up butting heads over sounds. He walks away but that night he gets a visit from Will looking for advice on which label to sign with. He tells him that given a hard choice, he would choose the devil he knows. This leads Will to sign with Jeff and Luke, but who knows what will happen now that Jeff isn’t there anymore. Deacon also decides to not do the trial and wait for a transplant. He also apologizes to Avery.

Gunnar, Scarlett, Avery: Besides what we have already covered above, these three decide to continue performing together. After Gunnar catches Scarlett crying he suggests she come out and sing for fun. I am still so happy and surprised that with the history between this triangle that they all seem to have a great friendship with each other. Bravo Nashville! Also, Juliette has a photo shoot for Vogue and we all just wish that her pregnancy on the show would move faster so she could have a better storyline.

Teddy: Teddy spends all episode trying to find Jeff, basically to cover his own butt. He finds Jeff who basically threatens him with his indiscretion. At the end of the episode he goes to her house, which is being bugged unbeknownst to him, and tries to come up with a lie to cover the affair.
