Perhaps to make some headlines, the United States space program NASA this week unveiled its new spacesuits which feature a green and white color scheme.

The design easily invites comparisons to the spacesuit worn by Buzz Lightyear in all three Toy Story films by Disney Pixar.

Writes ScreenCrush, “This new spacesuit will be easier to put on than previous version (astronauts will be able to slip in and out, just like they do in the movies), is more flexible allowing for a wider range of motion and will have its own airlock.”

Check out comparison photos below. We’re having a hard time believing that the guy inside the Buzz-looking costume is actually an astronaut and not a model:

NASA says the spacesuit is still in the prototype phase, so you won’t see this thing headed into outer space soon.

This is a full-circle moment in a way. The Buzz Lightyear name was inspired by Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin. Now NASA is giving a nod back to Toy Story. Buzz Lightyear is voiced by Tim Allen. Several Toy Story Toons – short films following the lovable characters – have also been released in recent years.

We hope to see this new design, with these colors, out in space soon!
