The Narnia revival movie The Silver Chair will be directed by Joe Johnston, the man behind the best (yeah I said it) Marvel movie Captain America: The First Avenger.
Variety reports that Narnia: The Silver Chair — the Narnia revival movie you totally remembered was happening — has found its director.
It’s Joe Johnston, the man behind the original Jumanji movie as well as Marvel’s first installment of the Captain America saga (conveniently set in the same era as the Narnia films), The First Avenger.
Johnston’s resumé also counts Jurassic Park III, The Wolfman and Hidalgo.
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair will be the fourth Narnia film, the last of which came out in 2010.
The new movie is a revival in the sense that it continues the series, but without the Pevensie children. Instead, the film picks up after Voyage of the Dawn Treader, with Eustace Scrubb (played in the last movie by the now-adult Will Poulter) and his classmate Jill Pole who journey to Narnia when King Caspian, now an old man, needs help finding his missing son Prince Rilian.
