This article contains spoilers so DO NOT READ if you don’t want to be spoiled.

– The Tracker Jacker scene. I like how they did this visually, from the actual Tracker Jackers themselves to Katniss’ hallucinations.

– The tribute parade. Everone was wearing costumes that best represented their districts, and, while everyone had cool outfits nothing compared to Katniss’ and Peeta’s, just like it is in the books. They were literally on fire, which was visually stunning.

– All of the scenes with Katniss and Rue working together. This friendship is so important, because Rue reminds Katniss of her sister, Prim, which made it all the more painful when Rue took her last breath. Jennifer Lawrence did an amazing job building the relationship and conveying the sorrow when Rue died. By the same token, Amandla Stenberg was the best choice for Rue; she brought so much to the role and you really felt pain and sorrow right along with Katniss when she died.

– The cave scene. This is where Peeta and Katniss start to really fall in love, and seeing this relationship grow was so great. Katniss really cares for Peeta and would do anything for him, and vice versa.

– Cato’s death. Throughout the entire movie, Alexander Ludwig did an amazing job in terms of acting. When it got to Cato’s final moments and he gave that speech, I was so impressed by his talent. You could see the emotion on his face and in his eyes, and you really began to feel bad for him, even after he did those terrible things without feeling an ounce of guilt.
