In a Kickstarter video for a new musical web series, some familiar faces implore you to fund their project – through song! The Kickstarter campaign for Muzzled: The Musical will have you tapping your feet (and, hopefully, emptying your wallet).

Muzzled: The Musical stars StarKid’s Joey Richter and Lauren Lopez, School of Thrones‘ Ashly Burch and Brendan Bradley, The Lizzie Bennet Diaries‘ Ashley Clements, Mary Kate Wiles, and Maxwell Glick, as well as Juliet Landau (Buffy), Kevin Sorbo (Hercules), Jeff Lewis (The Guild), Keneley Shea (The Spelling Bee), Erin Heft (Glee), and Lisa Foiles (Nickelodeon’s All That).

The web series was created by School of Thrones‘ Matthew Mercer and Zach Grafton, with music by Jason Charles Miller (Disney’s Teen Beach Musical’s “Cruisin’ for a Bruisin'”).

The Kickstarter target of $45,000 will fund three episodes of Muzzled, with stretch goals built in to fund further episodes depending on how much money is raised. The campaign will close on Thursday, July 3 at 3 p.m. ET.

A synopsis for this first season, comprised of the definite three episodes, has been released:

Muzzled will take viewers on a journey to the Serenadia Kingdom, where singing is power. With the right song, you can bring peace to the downtrodden, bake a delicious birthday cake… even kill! Hence, the muzzle, a magic tattoo that punishes you when you try to sing. After 20 years of a royal decree that the Blackhearts bear the muzzle and silence their voices, the Black Matron’s teen daughter Malfalia decides she wants nothing more than to sing. Follow her journey as Malfalia sets out to masquerade as a princess, infiltrate royal society, and thereby free her fellow Blackhearts from the tyranny of the Muzzles.

According to the Kickstarter, the campaign will also allow for fan interaction. Namely, it will “put you in the cast recording, singing along with these awesome actors!” Which is a good thing, because if this first song is any indication, you won’t be able to help yourself singing along.
