After four episodes on Mondays at 11:00 p.m., Scream is not only moving to a new day, but a new time as well.

If you’re an old lady at heart like me, you’ll be pleased that Scream is moving back to its old time slot of Tuesdays at 10:00 p.m. starting June 28. No more of this ending-at-midnight-then-staying-up-for-the-after-show business. Huzzah!

Scream tweeted the news Wednesday afternoon:

They didn’t provide a reason for the sudden change, but reports of low ratings may be the culprit. Last year, Scream season 1 did well enough for MTV to grant them a second season, and considering they used to air at 10 p.m. on Tuesdays, the show could be trying to return to its roots.

Still, changing the show’s day and hour of airing will undoubtedly cause some confusion. Be sure to spread the word to all your friends and family who tune into the show! You shouldn’t need to update your DVR because of the change, but it’d be smart to keep an eye on it anyway.

The new airdates have been provided as follows:

Tuesday, 6/28 – 205
Tuesday, 7/5 – 206
Tuesday, 7/12 – 207
Tuesday, 7/19 – 208 and “Scream After Dark!” #2
Tuesday, 7/26 – 209
Tuesday, 8/2 – 210
Tuesday, 8/9 – 211
Tuesday, 8/16 – 212 Finale and “Scream After Dark!” #3

Scream season 2 is off to a good start — in my opinion, anyway — with the show not only focusing on Emma’s mysterious childhood, but Audrey’s involvement in the season 1 murders. It’s been interesting to see how the writers are connecting season 2 to last year’s events, while simultaneously trying to make the story feel different.

Check out my review of last week’s episode, “Happy Birthday to Me,” in which the gang gets drugged and trips out at Kieran’s birthday party. It’s still unclear who the killer could be, but Emma’s father, Eli, and Stavo have consistently been on my radar this year. Then again, with a show like Scream, it’s well within the realm of possibility for them to pull out a shocking twist.

But at least everyone now knows Jake is dead and they’re on an even playing field. Though I doubt this information is going to help keep everyone alive.

Are you happy ‘Scream’ is moving back to Tuesdays at 10?
