Some new movie trailers have been released including R.I.P.D., Only God Forgives, Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain, Elysium, Killing Season, The Butler, and Touchy Feely.

‘R.I.P.D.’

It’s not often enough that a movie kills off one of its main stars, and if this movie trailer is any indication, Ryan Reynolds will die in the first ten minutes. From the interesting premise to the Reynolds/Jeff Bridges duo – everything about R.I.P.D. looks awesome.

Synopsis:

Jeff Bridges and Ryan Reynolds headline the 3D supernatural action-adventure “R.I.P.D.” as two cops dispatched by the otherworldly Rest In Peace Department to protect and serve the living from an increasingly destructive array of souls who refuse to move peacefully to the other side.

Veteran sheriff Roy Pulsifer (Bridges) has spent his career with the legendary police force known as R.I.P.D. tracking monstrous spirits who are cleverly disguised as ordinary people. His mission? To arrest and bring to justice a special brand of criminals trying to escape final judgment by hiding among the unsuspecting on Earth.

Once the wise-cracking Roy is assigned former rising-star detective Nick Walker (Reynolds) as his junior officer, the new partners have to turn grudging respect into top-notch teamwork. When they uncover a plot that could end life as we know it, two of R.I.P.D.’s finest must miraculously restore the cosmic balance…or watch the tunnel to the afterlife begin sending angry souls the very wrong way.

‘Only God Forgives’

If it weren’t enough that Only God Forgives would be the re-teaming of Ryan Gosling with his Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn, it’ll also be one of only two remaining Gosling-starred movies before his acting hiatus. It’s a must see.

Synopsis:

Julian (Ryan Gosling) is a former kickboxer and gangster living in Bangkok. When his brother is murdered by a ruthless Thai police lieutenant, Julian is forced to seek vengeance or risk his own death.

‘Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain’ (red-band)

As our Chelsea Boyd said, “Every generation needs a go-to standup movie.” This could very well be that movie. Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain will make you laugh, it’ll make you cry, and it’ll probably make you do both at the same time.

Synopsis:

“Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain” captures the laughter, energy and mayhem from Hart’s 2012 concert tour, which spanned 10 countries and 80 cities, and generated over $32 million in ticket sales. Hart’s “Let Me Explain” tour was one of the most successful comedy tours of all time, with more than 540,000 tickets sold. Both of his shows at New York’s Madison Square Garden and his performance at London’s O2 Arena sold out, as well as his appearances in Canada, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Amsterdam. The tour concluded this past New Year’s Eve in Los Angeles by selling out the Staples Center and grossing over $1 million in revenue in one night. Only five other comedians – Andrew Dice Clay, Dane Cook, Chris Rock, Russell Peters and Eddie Murphy – have sold out Madison Square Garden where Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain was filmed.

‘Elysium’

Elysium looks to be a combo of great sci-fi and great acting, something unfortunately not as common as it should be. It looks like this has the potential to be Matt Damon’s best role in a while. It’s also Jodie Foster’s last movie as she gave her retirement speech at this year’s Oscars.

Synopsis:

In the year 2154, two classes of people exist: the very wealthy, who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined planet. The people of Earth are desperate to escape the crime and poverty that is now rampant throughout the land. The only man with the chance to bring equality to these worlds is Max (Matt Damon), an ordinary guy in desperate need to get to Elysium. With his life hanging in the balance, he reluctantly takes on a dangerous mission – one that pits him against Elysium’s Secretary Delacourt (Jodie Foster) and her hard-line forces – but if he succeeds, he could save not only his own life, but millions of people on Earth as well.

‘Killing Season’

For as many great movies as Robert De Niro has been in, he’s been in more than his share of mediocre ones too. Unfortunately, the movie trailer makes Killing Season look like it’ll fall into the latter category. It has a chance to be average, but odds are it misses that mark.

Synopsis:

Deep in the Appalachian mountains, a reclusive American military veteran (Robert De Niro) and a European tourist (John Travolta) strike up an unlikely friendship. But when the tourist’s true intentions come to light, what follows is a tense battle across some of America’s most forbidding landscape proving the old adage: the purest form of war is one-on-one.

‘The Butler’

Now this is more like it. The Butler is Oscar bait, no doubt about it. If the source material alone wasn’t enough, you don’t have to look any further than the star-studded cast that includes Forest Whitaker, Robin Williams, John Cusack, Alan Rickman, Jane Fonda, Terrence Howard, and many more.

Synopsis:

“The Butler” tells the story of a White House butler who served eight American presidents over three decades. The film traces the dramatic changes that swept American society during this time, from the civil rights movement to Vietnam and beyond, and how those changes affected this man’s life and family. Forest Whitaker stars as the butler with Robin Williams as Dwight Eisenhower, John Cusack as Richard Nixon, Alan Rickman as Ronald Reagan, James Marsden as John F. Kennedy, Liev Schreiber as Lyndon B. Johnson, and many more. Academy Award® nominated Lee Daniels (“Precious”) directs and co-wrote the script with Emmy®-award winning Danny Strong (“Game Change”).

‘Touchy Feely’

Touchy Feely looks like it’s going to give a great look at how seemingly “normal” people can have a mental issue of some kind and how it effects them. In the case of Rosemarie DeWitt’s character, she’s a massage therapist who is unable to maintain physical contact. Warning: the trailer does give away quite a bit of the film.

Synopsis:

“Touchy Feely” is a closely observed examination of a family whose delicate psychic balance suddenly unravels. Abby (Rosemarie DeWitt), is a sought after massage therapist and a free spirit, while her brother Paul (Josh Pais) thrives on routine and convention, running a flagging dental practice and co-dependently enlisting the assistance of his emotionally stunted daughter Jenny (Ellen Page). Suddenly, transformation touches everyone. Abby develops an uncontrollable aversion to bodily contact, which not only makes her occupation impossible but severely hinders the passionate love life between her and her boyfriend (Scoot McNairy).
