No film is perfect, but some of 2012’s biggest blockbusters were the cinematic experiences littered with the highest number of mistakes in 2012. This is according to a long-running movie mistake bookkeeping site.

Men in Black III had the highest number of mistakes (63), ranging from continuity errors to plot holes. “During the scene where Agent J and K are driving around Midtown Manhattan, the wide shot shows them driving past the red TKTS staircase in the middle of Times Square. Then there is a shot of J inside the car a few moments later, and they pass by the red TKTS staircase again,” is one example.

Skyfall followed with 35 errors as of this writing. One example is a continuity mistake that most wouldn’t notice unless they were eagle-eyed on their second or third watch. “In the scene where M is asked to retire from MI6, she puts down her glass and gets up to leave. She picks up her coat from the back of the chair but leaves her bag on the floor. In the next shot, the bag is no longer there,” is one instance of a flub.

The Dark Knight Rises is in third place with 24 mistakes. Yet again continuity errors are the most common type of mistake found within the film. “When Catwoman shoots one of the tumblers we see it get hit and explode from behind, then 2 shots later we see her pass from the front. Also after the tumbler gets blown up the next wide shot from above reveals the tumbler is still there.”

Are these major issues that affect the story? Definitely not. But for cinephiles, they’re fun to spot and offer unique glimpses into the making of a movie. These are perhaps best grabbed when watching at home on DVD/Blu-ray.
