The first full trailer for Apple TV’s new original series, The Morning Show, is here, and it’s jam-packed with some serious drama.

Apple is getting serious with streaming, and is bringing some new, original programming to Apple TV. One such series is The Morning Show, starring Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Steve Carell.

After releasing an intriguing teaser last week, Apple just released a full trailer. In The Morning Show, we see that morning news isn’t just about lighthearted jokes and mild news reporting meant to get your day started. It’s a hub of some serious drama.

In the trailer, we kick things off with what seems to be a major disruption, as Steve Carell’s character is fired from his role as an anchor on national television. But the changes don’t stop there.

A new reporter (Reese Witherspoon) is brought into the fold, and it seems that whether she wants it or not, she’s being viewed as a real threat to Jennifer Aniston’s role as lead anchor. As Aniston’s character is viewed as being “too old” for her role, Witherspoon’s character threatens the status quo by bucking labels and bringing a new feel to the news desk.

Basically, you never knew that the morning news was so fraught behind the scenes, right? As the official show synopsis explains, The Morning Show centers around the “high-stakes world of morning news and the lives of the people who help America wake up in the morning.”

With two seasons ordered by Apple, it looks like we’re in for a ton of drama in this unexplored, high-stakes world. Of course, don’t expect upwards of 20 or so episodes like many basic cable dramas. Instead, true to most streaming originals, The Morning Show will have shorter seasons, each running for 10 episodes.

There isn’t an official release date for The Morning Show, but the trailer says the series is “coming soon,” so we can cross our fingers for a fall release.
