Warning: This post contains spoilers relevant to the rest of the third season of Pretty Little Liars. This post will reference events from the summer finale “The Lady Killer,” which aired on August 29.

As all good Pretty Little Liars fans are aware, another member of the A team was revealed during the summer finale and turned out to be Spencer’s (Troian Bellisario) boyfriend Toby Cavanaugh (Keegan Allen). Besides new drama with the A Team, it looks like Toby and Spencer’s relationship now might be in trouble.

A new love interest for Spencer will be showing up in the episode 15 of the third season “Mona-Mania” in the form of Andrew Campbell (Brandon W. Jones). It looks as if he will appear in at least two episodes this season. The character appears in the book series and according to a tweet by Pretty Little Liars writer Andy Reaser, will appear shirtless at least once. Previously Jones has appeared in episodes of Supernatural, CSI, Jane by Design, and Lie to Me.

In terms of the A Team, in an interview with Newsday, Bellisario revealed some details about Spencer’s arc for the rest of season 3. “The season finale is crazy. You can definitely expect Spencer’s world to be completely turned upside down,” she said. This could refer to her finding out about Toby or some family drama involving the always dramatic Jason (Drew Van Acker) or Melissa (Torrey DeVitto).

Don’t expect Toby to suddenly stop being a member of the A Team either. Allen recently tweeted a picture of him in a black hoodie, which signals which team he belongs to. Apparently the scene he was filming was in the woods with Bellisario. What could this revolve around?

As creator and executive producer Marlene King revealed in an interview with Alloy Entertainment, Toby is not an original member of the A Team. “Toby was not always on the A team. And you’ll find out as the show continues when he did join the A team.”

Toby has appeared in the show since the first season and was suspected of killing Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse) early on. After being cleared of any charges, Toby became friends with Emily (Shay Mitchell) and started to date Spencer. In the summer finale, Spencer and Toby even had sex for the first time, making the betrayal more stinging.

Remember Pretty Little Liars fans, Spencer is unaware of Toby’s true allegiance, as only the audience saw him with Mona (Janel Parrish) in matching black hoodies. The A Team is likely to be larger than just Mona and Toby, given Alison’s poisonous relations with most of Rosewood.
