I picked Moonlight Sins as my favorite book of 2018, and that was just the beginning. Moonlight Scandals has set the bar high for 2019, so we’ll just have to see if anyone can top it.

This seemingly final book in the de Vincent series finally gets to the brother we’ve all been waiting for. Not that we didn’t love reading about Lucian and Gabriel, but Devlin has been the most elusive and mysterious of the bunch. It’s time to get into his head a bit and see what makes the eldest de Vincent brother tick.

In the aftermath of Moonlight Seduction, Devlin is helping Gabe as he looks after Nikki. This throws him right into her best friend Rosie’s path, and they are definitely equal and opposing forces. But you know what they say about opposites. It isn’t long before their contentious relationship leads to, well, you can probably guess from there.

I freaking love the de Vincent brothers. These books combine all the things I love about Jennifer L. Armentrout’s romance books. The de Vincent series is equal parts sexy, funny, spooky, and thrilling, which makes for an invigorating and satisfying reading experience.

I don’t like scary things, so when I first started this series, I was a little worried that the scares were going to keep me from falling completely in love with the de Vincents. I couldn’t have been more wrong if I tried. These boys and the tough times they suffered through as children make them wholly relatable and enticing heroes. You want to cheer them on as they find the loves of their lives, and no one deserves that adoration more than Devlin.

Devlin has taken on more of the less than savory aspects of the de Vincent lifestyle, leaving his brothers to pursue their passions and devote their lightly scarred hearts to their women. It’s caused Devlin a number of hardships and definitely made him skeptical of all things light and lovely. He thinks his life has to be hard to keep his brothers’ lives easy, so he takes the hard road pretty much all the time.

Enter Rosie and her larger than life personality. She is everything he needs to keep from forgetting that he, too, deserves love and happiness.

Rosie is more than just the light to Devlin’s dark, though. She is dedicated to educating and helping people with their relationships to all things supernatural, and in a city like New Orleans, that’s definitely a service people will need. In addition to her NOPE responsibilities, Rosie is a huge help to her family and friends however they might need her. Whether it’s stepping in to help at her family’s shop, dropping by to keep a friend company, or putting her safety on the line to defend just about anyone important to her.

I definitely didn’t see all the twists in Moonlight Scandals coming. It was a bit of a roller coaster for both Rosie and Devlin, so it only makes sense that the audience be taken on a bit of a ride as well. No matter where the story took us, watching Rosie and Dev trade barbs and kisses in equal measure was an absolute delight.

I might even be so bold as to say that the de Vincents are my favorite heroes of hers yet. Whether its Lucian’s playful antics, Gabe’s hand crafted whole-heartedness, or Dev’s tortured soul, I know I will be revisiting these books again and again. I can’t help but love them.
