The first television spot for Monsters, Inc. prequel Monsters University aired yesterday during a United States football game, and it wasn’t the type of commercial you’d expect for Pixar’s 2013 film.

This Monsters University commercial actually doesn’t even feature Mike and Sulley, the film’s lead characters voiced by Billy Crystal and John Goodman. Rather, it’s a promotional video for the Monsters University school itself.

Sit back and be recruited for what appears to be one of the best schools for monsters.

One of the first things we noticed about this trailer is the beautiful detail that’ve gone into the monsters and everything on the school’s campus. Pixar continues to enhance their technology and we see beautiful leaps forward with every film.

Just yesterday Pixar released concept art from each of their four upcoming films. The Monsters University art depicts Mike and Sulley walking through the gated entryway of their school.

We’re eagerly anticipating a new trailer for Monsters University which should be just around the concern considering the film opens in June. The film follows Monsters, Inc. characters Mike and Sulley in their college years. So far we’ve only been treated to this teaser trailer and these cute posters.

Monsters University opens in theaters June 21, 2013.
