The Modern Love trailer gives us eight true love stories acted out by Dev Patel, Anne Hathaway, Tina Fey and so many more of our faves!

Even if you aren’t an avid reader of The New York Times, chances are you’ve either heard of the “Modern Love” column or even read a story from it.

Since its inception in 2004, the “Modern Love” column has given us countless personal essays about relationships written by real life people and their real life struggles and triumphs in love.

Out of those many, many columns, eight were chosen by Amazon and served as the inspiration for Modern Love, a TV series made by a collaboration of The New Times and Prime Video.

Check out the trailer below!

Modern Love is an anthology series featuring eight true stories from the New York Times column. It features — among many famous actors and personal faves — Anne Hathaway, Tina Fey, Dev Patel, John Slattery, Andy Garcia, Catherine Keener, Cristin Milioti, and Andrew Scott.

If you’ve ever read the New York Times column, you’ll know that the stories Modern Love tells runs the gamut — stories of first love and first heartache, passionate reconciliation and cold dissolution. From the looks of the trailer, it seems the show will be no different.

John Carney, known for his tremendous work on the underrated classics Once, Begin Again (seriously, please watch Begin Again) and Sing Street will serve as writer, head director and executive producer.

However, with eight episodes, he’s not the only director attached to Modern Love.

Sharon Horgan, of Catastrophe and Divorce fame, likewise wrote and directed the episode that features John Slattery and Tina Fey in couples counseling. Tom Hall, of Sensation, and Emmy Rossum, known for her work on Shameless, directed another.

The eight Modern Love true stories will run as half-hour episodes for the series, which will begin streaming exclusively on Amazon Prime on October 18.
