Here are the highlights from the Modern Family season 5 finale, “The Wedding, Part 2”:

Cam and Mitch try to talk the firemen out of evacuating the wedding. Pepper manages to squeeze 30 minutes out of them and they try to rush the ceremony. But just as they go to start, Sal’s water breaks and she has to leave!

Luckily, Phil got ordained online and can take her place. Cam and Mitch are relieved – until Pepper breaks the news that the fire is blazing closer and they have to leave immediately. Somehow, Pepper manages to find a place for them to take the wedding last minute. So they rush everyone to the shuttles (which are actually school buses).

Gloria tries to hide what she said to Cam’s mom from Jay but ends up admitting the truth. She tries to explain what happened but he cuts her off and says that he will fix it. Now they both have to hide the truth from Cam so it doesn’t ruin his special day (which is already quite messed up). Jay also tries to fix his own mess with Mitch, but ends up insulting him in the process.

On the way to the new location, Haley can’t stop thinking about Andy, and Alex accuses her of having a crush on him. It’s pretty clear that Haley does, even though she tries to deny it. Phil tries to make sense of the vows Sal prepared but finds it to be rather inappropriate. Instead, he decides that a magic trick is in order as Luke and Manny argue like an old married couple (much to Alex’s amusement).

Back at the cafe, Andy is surprised to see Haley come in. She doesn’t even make fun of his corny comments about the way she looks and even invites him to come hang out at the wedding with her. When Andy tells her that he’s still going to see Beth, she tells him that he deserves better. But before he can respond she has to leave to get back to the wedding.

Cam admits to Mitch that he was worried about what Jay said earlier – that the fire was a sign they shouldn’t get married. Mitch tries to tell him how ridiculous that sounds. Then Pepper finds out that the wedding party that canceled on the venue earlier is back and wants them gone. So they have no choice but to head back to the house.

It’s officially time to freak out – and Cam is doing just that. He’s definitely convinced it’s a bad idea to have the wedding. And he doesn’t even know that the best person (Claire) has ruined her dress by falling into the shower.

When Alex finds Haley texting Andy, she warns her sister. Although she was joking about him being lame earlier in the day, Alex doesn’t want to see him get hurt. This confuses Haley, who stills seems unsure about her feelings.

So when Andy calls and asks what she meant about him deserving better, she lies and says she just meant in general. What she doesn’t know is that he was sitting outside in a cab. But when she doesn’t tell him the truth about her feelings, he decides to drive off.

With the ceremony all set up in the living room, a soaking wet Claire takes her place. Lily goes into flower girl mode, but only has one petal left, so she has to keep picking it up to throw back down. Before walking down the aisle, Cam asks Mitch if this is what he really wants. They agree to call it off, but Jay tells them he has a solution and they go to the golf club.

Finally at the wedding they deserve, Jay walks his son down the aisle. Cam’s parents follow suit and walk him down the aisle. Phil gives a beautiful ceremony that has everyone tearing up. Later, Claire gives a touching speech before Cam and Mitch share their first dance.
