On the last episode of Modern Family Phil and Claire learned a valuable lesson about lying to their children. Luke was not happy when Phil tricked him into taking a dance class, but got his revenge when Phil got arrested for unpaid parking tickets courtesy of Haley.
Meanwhile, Alex was deeply hurt to find out Claire was paying Haley to take her driving so she didn’t have to. Luckily, Haley was able to convince her siblings that their parents were just struggling with seeing them grow up. She also got herself out of the woods by saving them.
Cam and Mitch went through an ordeal trying to get the wedding venue they wanted. Only to find out it wasn’t available on the date they had chosen based on their anniversary. But an interesting confession from Gloria about chemistry saves the day.
Jay tried to convince Manny that chemistry is everything, Gloria admitted she didn’t know if she liked Jay or not until a month into their dating. While Cam took two months to decide on Mitch and Claire took six months to know with Phil.
This allows Cam and Mitch to get their venue based on their new anniversary date – two months after they went on their first date.

“The high school open house puts the parents in a bit of a time warp when Claire finds herself stressed out by all the pressure, Gloria encounters a “mean girl” mom (guest star Jane Krakowski) and Jay teaches Phil how to play a little hookie. Elsewhere, Mitchell gets defensive when he encounters his judgemental, environmentalist neighbor (guest star Jesse Eisenberg) and Alex goes to see a therapist (guest star John Benjamin Hickey), on “Modern Family,” WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 15 (9:00-9:31 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.”
