Modern Family has a lot of special events in the future! Executive producer Chris Lloyd is teasing what’s ahead for Cam and Mitch as well as the possibility of an episode centered on Las Vegas.
In a recent interview with TV Guide, Lloyd opened up about the much anticipated wedding between Cam and Mitch. According to the EP, the event in question will take place in an episode in May.
But before we see the two walk down the aisle, fans will get to witness their bachelor party!
Lloyd teases that the bachelor party won’t be any easier to plan than the wedding. “There’s a lot of pressure on Mitch and Cam because they feel they are setting the new standard for the gay bachelor party.”
The episode featuring the bachelor party will likely air sometime in March or April, according to Lloyd.
Lloyd also expressed the desire to find a way to make the wedding different from those seen elsewhere on network television. He wants to replicate the way Modern Family handled the proposal itself, “Though the episode where Mitch and Cam proposed was anticipated, I think the way we handled that was effective.”
The family may also be taking a trip to Las Vegas, says Lloyd. The network has apparently been looking to film an episode where they take a family trip.
“It’s at the seventy-five percent stage now, but I believe we will go there. We’re putting some finishing touches on that now,” explains Lloyd.
Las Vegas is the center of all things bachelor party, but Lloyd didn’t mention any connection between the two. But that would make for quite the episode!
