The boy with the bread is beaten up in the first commercial for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1.

Doritos, one of the lead sponsors for Mockingjay, Part 1, debuted the clip on the cheesy snack’s YouTube channel Monday night.

There’s a lot going on in this preview. The first thing we see (after Doritos “unlocks” the clip, which is a reference to a District 13 tie-in) is Caesar Flickerman opening up an interview with Peeta from within the Capitol. Katniss, Gale, and the District 13 leaders observe the special event from their headquarters. Next we see Peeta asking for everyone to “lay down their weapons immediately” while Katniss gasps “you’re alive” and Gale looks on in jealousy.

“Everyone has a choice Katniss, and I’d rather die than say what he just said,” Gale tells her, seemingly unaware that the Capitol is controlling Peeta.

The fact that there’s a clip in here of Peeta beaten up may indicate that Mockingjay, Part 1 won’t be split until after he tries to kill Katniss. As we speculated in January, Francis Lawrence could decide to split the film right after Peeta tries to attack his love interest. That’d be a scary cliffhanger and would surely leave fans aching for November 2015.

Now that the first Mockingjay TV spot is out, expect things to begin moving quite quickly over the next couple weeks as more clips are released. Buckle up!

In related news, earlier this week Lawrence confirmed that Mockingjay, Part 1 is finished:

Tickets for Mockingjay go on sale next Wednesday, October 29. The film hits theaters November 21.
